Auction roundup: Our first online property auction of 2021

Published: 18th March 2021

Our first auction of 2021 kicked off with a bang!

Last month, the Regional Property Auctioneers team hosted our first online auction of 2021, bringing February to a triumphant close in property sales for RPA.

Since moving to a fully-online platform in April last year, we’ve been able to operate further afield, allowing us to reach bidders and buyers far and wide - and we’ve seen a particular increase in bidders from the North East!

The successful day saw our team sell a range of different properties in a number of locations including Durham, Hull, Hartlepool and Scarborough.

Our director & head auctioneer, James Vandenbrook, said:

“Buying property at auction is a thrilling way to acquire your next home or a future investment, and our online platform is just as exciting as it is in person.

“The system we use now is far more accessible and it gives our bidders more control and greater flexibility while being completely safe and secure.

“We’re so pleased that our first auction of 2021 was a triumph, both for us and our successful bidders, and we hope our next online auctions continue to attract bidders from across the country.”

Here are some of our top sales picks from auction day:

Two bedroom terrace in Wheatley, Doncaster

With an original guide price of £29,000, a fantastic two-bedroom terraced property in Wheatley in Doncaster was sold to one lucky bidder for £51,000 on auction day.

In a great location within walking distance of the town centre, this fully rewired property - with double glazing - offers an ideal rental or move-in potential for it’s new buyer.

Two flats on Aberdeen Walk, Scarborough

Our two seaside town flats located in the bustling centre of Scarborough offer plenty of opportunities to their new buyers!

Originally priced at £48,000 per flat, both sold for £101,00 at auction. These two-bed apartments located in the coastal town centre, are fully refurbished from top to bottom...ready for their new owners to occupy, residentially rent or even holiday let!

Three bedroom terrace house in Stainforth, Doncaster

This three-bedroom terraced property, with both front and rear gardens, has bags of potential for it’s buy-to-let investor. It currently produces £3,900 per annum on let - but has huge possibilities for rent increase to reflect the current market rents.

The sale of this home at £57,00 on auction day was significantly higher than the original advertised guide price of £39,000 - a success all round!

We currently host six or more auctions each year, with a 70% sales success rate. We publish catalogues of upcoming properties online prior to each auction and interested parties can arrange in-person viewings in advance. Bidding then takes place online over a set timeframe, with optional email alerts and automated bidding facilities for when you’ve been outbid.

Join us for our next online auction on the 21st April 2021.
