Cirencester property consultants rebrand as Barnsdales

Published: 30th September 2019

Cirencester chartered surveyors David Allberry & Company has rebranded following an acquisition by the property consultants Barnsdales. The company is now trading as the Cirencester office of Barnsdales chartered surveyors and property consultants, a year after its founder, David Allberry, sold the practice and retired.

David Allberry & Company began in 1979 and has supported hundreds of businesses and property owners in the area.

Spencer Gower, consultant surveyor

Spencer Gower, consultant surveyor who now runs the office, said: "David Allberry has played an important role in supporting the business and property environment in Cirencester and he established a strong reputation for high quality client service.

"When David decided to sell the business so he could retire, we were very happy to take on the company to ensure it continues to support its clients.

"Cirencester and the surrounding area is a wonderful place with a strong local economy and a great deal of potential. We're excited for the future as we build on the business that David started 40 years ago and focus on providing great client service for many years to come."

Barnsdales is a leading property consultancy which was established in 1905 and provides a full range of integrated property services to corporate and private clients.

Today, the company has offices in Doncaster, Sheffield, Manchester, Lincoln, London and Cirencester and has a team of more than fifty property professionals. The family-run company is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA).

Spencer Gower is a consultant surveyor with almost 30 years' experience in the property sector. During his career, Spencer has worked across the UK property sector and, as well as supporting a wide range of retailers, property owners and landlords, he has been responsible for the development of major retail parks and shopping centres.

Since Barnsdales and David Allberry merged in July 2018, the company has continued using the David Allberry & Company name during a period of transition. Now, more than a year after the acquisition, the company has officially rebranded as Barnsdales so it can move forward and make the most of its national credentials.

Mr Gower added: "Just like David Allberry & Company, Barnsdales prides itself on providing a personal service that's built on a close relationship of trust and understanding and this is very important to us going forward.

"David is still helping us in the office, sharing his advice and knowledge, and we're very grateful to him for trusting us to take on the business he built over so many years. With David's blessing, we are moving forward and beginning a new era for the company as Barnsdales in Cirencester."

Barnsdales office is located at Old Bank Chambers, 18 Castle Street in Cirencester and can be contacted on 01285 657 944 or by emailing spencer@barnsdales.co.uk.
