Company Update - Covid 19

Published: 16th May 2020

A note from our MD; Jason Barnsdale MRICS

Many of you have been asking how has the current pandemic affected our business, some of you have asked is it business as usual? Well I thought I should be the one to update you!

Yes it is very much business as usual, we have indeed furloughed a few people, but very much the minority, otherwise we have in place a full team across each of our specialist divisions to support all of our clients. Our team have embraced home working; although this was something we have been supporting for several years now and no one noticed! We invested in our first Cloud platform almost 10 years ago; long before most people knew what Cloud computing was. We have always embraced new technology and continue to do so to improve our service offering to our clients, make our business more efficient and to support our team of people deliver a first class service. In the last 18 months we transitioned the whole of our property management system to ReLeased, one of the Worlds leading Real Estate Property Management Cloud based systems. With this we are soon to launch apps to our clients and tenants and our staff have been using the Property Manager app for months. We have also operated Cloud based expenses, holiday planner and HR systems for years; which has supported our staff whilst working from home. And of course we have embraced Zoom and Teams as the new way to connect!

So how has the pandemic affected our business? Yes there has been a small down turn in activity in our agency and valuations teams, but that’s about it. Property management and Facilities management the two largest departments in our business by far have seen a 10% increase in workload over the lock down so far. We have won new property management mandates in Nottingham, Newcastle, London, Doncaster, Newark and other UK locations since lock down commenced. Our Facilities Management team have been supporting adults with learning difficulties for our client Camphill Village Trust and this work has been praised by their senior leadership. They have also been engaged in one off projects throughout the UK which continue safely.

At the forefront of everything we do is our Health & Safety procedures, never more relevant in these current times.

So in conclusion, we are very well placed to see ourselves succeed through the terrible adversity of the Covid 19 pandemic, we sincerely hope we are over the worst. We remain fully committed to support our clients and our staff during these difficult times, but together we will get through this and we hope you all remain safe and well.
